Please read the story attached or right from the Bible. After the story I have attached some discussion questions.
This is also to help each Spark understand the importance of believing what God says and his Word. God Tells us to believe in him and we can be sure what he says is true.
Mary – Handmaiden Who Believed
Story: Luke 1:26-56 – read from the Bible and a shortened version from the Sparks book is attached.
Discussion Activity after the story
- What was so special about Mary’s baby? What would he do
- In what ways were Zachariah and Mary the same? In what ways were they different?
- Who would you rather be like-Zachariah or Mary? Why?

John 1:2 – “He was in the beginning with God”

John 1:1-3 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.”
Application Activity – optional – When Mary thought of all the things God had done, she couldn’t do nothing but Praise him. Lead your child in a time of praise. We can do this in many ways. We can sing a song of Praise. We can recite the verse 1 Corinthians 15:3. You can also express your worship through a creative word poster.
