Sparks Lesson – Shepherds Tell the Good News
The lights had already gone out in the town of Bethlehem. But in the fields nearby, some shepherds sat around a small campfire. They stayed up late, keeping watch over their sheep. That night, only a few stars twinkled in the big, black sky. The sheep were quieter than usual – except for a soft “baa” from a lamb now and then. The shepherds were quiet too. A few of them started to feel sleepy. Suddenly, the sky lit up as brightly as daytime!
Sparks Lesson – Mary Handmaiden Who Believed
Mary had so many chores to do today. First, she had to go and get water from the well. Then she had to sweep the floor and help her mother bake the bread. After that, she hoped to start her weaving. Soon, she would marry a wonderful man named Joseph – and Mary must make clothes for the wedding!
Sparks Lesson – The Priest Who Didn’t Believe
What a special day! Today the priest Zechariah would enter into God’s temple for an important job. He had waited so long to be chosen for this job. Finally, it was his turn. Zechariah got ready. Soon, he would go all by himself into a room called the “Holy Place.” He would burn sweet-smelling spices, called incense, for the Lord.
